YVR North Construction Yards

Vancouver Airport Authority is proposing to construct and operate three temporary construction staging sites that may be used for soil stockpiling and/or construction equipment storage and staging.  The three areas are located on Ferguson Road on the northside of the Vancouver International Airport in Richmond.

 

The Proposed Project

 

The proposed YVR North Construction Yards project will involve clearing of vegetation and setup of level staging areas to stockpile soil, sort construction materials and park construction equipment. Site preparation will include vegetation clearing, removal of soil, grading, excavation, placement of gravel, construction of access driveways and installation of fencing and signage.

 

Operation of the construction yards will involve construction equipment parking and operation, soil import, soil sorting, soil placement, bulk aggregate storage, grading, excavation and site restoration.

Latest update

July 3, 2026 – The Vancouver Airport Authority intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, the Vancouver Airport Authority is inviting public comments until August 3, 2026 respecting that determination.
