Timber harvesting (101.6 ha) on MOUNT CURRIE 6

Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) is conducting an environmental review of a proposed forestry project by Lil'wat Forestry Ventures within Mount Currie Indian Reserve No. 6.

The proposed project involves the harvesting of approximately 101.6 hectares of forested land. Project activities include timber harvesting, the construction of new forest service roads, the reactivation and use of existing roads, and associated forestry operations required to access and manage the harvest area.

The environmental review will assess potential effects of the proposed activities on environmental, cultural, and socio-economic values. Assessment considerations may include wildlife and wildlife habitat, water resources, vegetation, fish and fish habitat, species at risk, erosion and sediment control, archaeological and heritage resources, traditional land use, and other identified values.

Members of the public, Indigenous communities, stakeholders, and interested organizations are invited to review the available project information and provide comments during the public review period.
