Seaspan Deltaport - Tug Basin Pile Reconfiguration

The proposed project 

Seaspan's lease terminates on July 18, 2022, and they are required to move seven (7) out of eight (8) piles back to their original locations, disconnect utilities, and decommission their dock before vacating the location. The eighth pile will be removed from the site and not replaced.  

The piles will be placed in water that ranges in depth from 5 metres to 15 metres below chart datum.  

Pile extraction and relocation activities will be completed using a vibratory hammer from a marine derrick with a mounted crane. 

Pile driving activities are expected to take approximately three days and will be scheduled outside the least-risk window for the Project area (August 16 to February 28). 

The anticipated construction timeline is July 7, 2022 to July 17, 2022.

Delta, B.C.May 13, 2022– The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has determined that the proposed Seaspan Deltaport - Tug Basin Pile Reconfiguration located at the southeast side of Roberts Bank causeway of Roberts Bank Terminal is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
