New Dock Installation - Lot 14 Best Point

The proposed project

The proposed recreational dock would include the following features:   

  • A wooden float, approximately 27 square metres, moored in place with galvanized chain secured to anchor blocks on the south side and dowelled into bedrock on the north side.  
  • A pre-fabricated aluminum pier, approximately 18 metres long and a pre-fabricated aluminum ramp approximately 15 metres long.  
  • An approximate 0.4 metre by 1.2 metre concrete shore block doweled into the exposed bedrock and a concrete column approximately 610 millimetres in diameter founded on a concrete footing approximately 1 metre by 1 metre.  
  • The pier would extend from the shore block to the column and the ramp would extend from the column to the float and include wheels that would ride in guides placed on the float.

District of North Vancouver, B.C. – May 18, 2023 – The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has determined that the proposed New Dock Installation located at Lot 14, Best Point, District of North Vancouver is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
