Interactive assessment map: Quick reference guide
The Interactive assessment map allows users to explore, visualize, and analyze geographic assessment data using a mapping interface.
The following list provides an overview and description of the tools and data available in the application.

Data Layers
Categories of layers embedded in the map.
Assessment Layers
Available assessment layers to add and visualize on the map. These layers are organized by status representing current, completed, and terminated assessments.
Proponent Data Submissions
Available project boundaries and components are grouped by regional area. Within each region, the layers are grouped by assessment title.
Environmental Layers
List of frequently used environmental layers from Open Data sources.
Information About Indigenous Peoples
List of frequently used layers from Open Data sources with information about Indigenous Peoples.
Layer Control Tools
Control tools that are available in the layers described above.
Expand
When applicable, use the arrow icon to the left of the layer group name to expand the data layers available for that category.
Visibility
Toggle the layer on or off the map using the visibility icon to the right of each layer name.
Legend
Select the legend icon to view the symbols used for each layer on the map.
Options
Select the Options icon to the right of the layer name to view available options for each layer.
Export
Select the Export icon under Options to export the layer information in one of the available formats.
Zoom to
Select the Zoom to icon under Options to visualize the project area and components at a closer scale.
Details
Select the Details icon under Options to view more information about the layer such as the description, usage, or source of the information.
Map Tools
Refined search and analysis tools.
Filters
Filter the assessment layers using the available criteria. Once the filters are applied the results are visible on the map and can be exported for other uses.
Nearby
Find assessment types and other relevant information within a certain radius of a location and view detailed information on selected results.
Add Data
Add external data to the map by searching content, adding online web services from open sources, or uploading files.
Basemaps
A gallery with different basemaps is available to use as background maps within the application.
