Upper Nicola Band - Quilchena Community Centre

  • The Upper Nicola Band (UNB) is proposing to build a Community Centre in the unincorporated community of Quilchena, approximately 25 km northeast of Merritt, BC, and 7 km east of Nicola Lake, and on Nicola Lake Indian Reserve No. 1.  
  • The proposed project is to be located on a lot about 4.9 ha in area.
  • The proponent has applied for funding from Indigenous Services Canada's First Nations Child and Family Services Program for the construction of the proposed community centre.

April 24, 2025 – The authorities issued their Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
