Douglas Lake Ranch Transmission 3 - Phase Line Relocation

BC Hydro plans to complete Phase 2 of the DY-0476 Douglas Lake Ranch (DLR) Project (the Project). Phase 1 construction was completed in 2021 and involved the relocation of Merritt 25F144 overhead (OH) transmission lines between Nicola Substation (NIC) and DLR Substation. Phase 2 of the Project will complete Merritt 24F144 OH relocation within Upper Nicola Band Reserve Lands (Douglas Lake 3). The following works will be conducted by BC Hydro as part of the Project: Overhead distribution line relocation along Corral Road (Removal of 11 poles, Replacement of two (2) poles); and Overhead distribution line relocation along Douglas Lake Road (Installation of two (2) new poles, Replacement of 14 existing poles, Installation of six (6) pole anchors).

April 21, 2023 – The public comment period on the project is closed. Environment and Climate Change Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
