Bivouac Site, OPSEE Training Area

The area the project is located in was cleared by the engineering school prior to its removal from Chilliwack. The area is now second growth alder, some of which was previously cleared as part of an exercise. The current project will include the removal of shrubbery and stumps before 15 March 2021. After 1 April 2021, the cleared area will have 20 cm (8") of 5 cm (2") minus stone for drainage, and a 15 cm (6") layer of 2 cm (¾") minus gravel top dressing. Gravel will be virgin sourced. The area of the project is approximately 9,000 m2. The area of the existing bivouac that this work will expand is approximately 18,000 m2.

The area will be used as a bivouac and parking site during military exercises, and will be maintained as a large graveled lot.
