Colwood Gate Improvements - Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Esquimalt

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project which aims to improve security at the CFB Esquimalt Colwood property. Work will include upgrades to the existing Wilfert Road guardhouse, parking area and turnaround, relocation of electrical poles, the addition of lighting and cameras throughout the Colwood property, including G Jetty, the construction of a sidewalk on Wilfert Road, repaving sections of Wilfert Road and construction of secondary fence surrounding the tank farm. Wedge barriers, lighting and cameras will also be installed at the Rosebank Gate.


Latest update

April 28, 2022 – The public comment period on the project is closed. The Department of National Defence is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
