New Dock Installation for 2136 Lockehaven Rd

Upland property owner Stephan Yuen proposes to build a new recreational dock at 2136 Lockehaven Rd, North Vancouver BC which is located in the district of north van Block B area. The proposed work includes reinforcing of an access platform on the landside (outside of port jurisdiction) and the installation of an access ramp and a mooring float.  The ramp and float will be constructed off-site and then placed and secured in the proposed dock location.

The ramp is a pre-made aluminum frame with a walkway that allows light to permeate.  The float will be made of composite material with foam-filled plastic billets to avoid contamination. Decking to be a poly-tread material to allow for light penetration.  The ramp will be secured to the bedrock and access platform. The float will be anchored by four concrete anchor blocks and pins. No vegetation will be disturbed for the works and no piles are proposed to be installed. Works will be conducted within the least risk work window for Burrard Inlet is August 16 – February 28 and be completed during normal construction hours. The dock meets all size requirements outlined in the recreational dock guidelines.

  • Floating Dock: The floating dock will be composed of three 10' x 10' (3.05 x 3.05 m) treated lumber frames. Each frame is divided into nine cells to accommodate the floatation foam blocks. Each floatation block will be encased in heat welded 10 mil white shrink wrap. All hardware will be marine grade (e.g., fittings, lag and carriage bolts).
  • Access ramp: 15.2 x 1.5 m (50' x 5') aluminum ramp
  • Anchors and chain: Two or four pre-cast concrete blocks (4,500 lbs each; 1.5 m length x .75 m width x .75 m height), marine grade mooring chain (length based on depth).
