Transfer Ponds Upgrades - Neptune

As the Allison Project (PER No. 2012-066 – Neptune Coal Capacity - Allison) moves towards completion, the terminal is experiencing an increased demand for water capacity. To help alleviate this demand, Neptune Bulk Terminals (Neptune) is proposing to install a 500 metre long coalwater forcemain from transfer pond 2 to transfer pond 5 (along the centre of their coal operations). Neptune is also proposing to upgrade the pump stations by adding 5 new pumps with new piping systems, supporting structures and electrical connections – the existing structures are to remain in place. Should the permit be approved, the project is expected take approximately 1 month to complete and will be undertaken during standard port authority construction hours.

North Vancouver, B.C. –May 6, 2022– The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has determined that the proposed Transfer Ponds Upgrades - Neptune, located at 1001 Low Level Road, North Vancouver, B.C., is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
