YVR Taxiway A Extension

Vancouver Airport Authority is proposing to extend Taxiway A and construct a new Taxiway A7 at the Vancouver International Airport in Richmond, B.C. The project consists of constructing and operating new aircraft taxiways and a new vehicle roadway to improve operational efficiencies and safety for aircraft maneuvering on the south airfield.  Taxiway A will be extended approximately 1,000m to the east with connections to Taxiway C and the new Taxiway A7. Taxiway A7 will be a new 200m long access to Runway 08R-26L.  The new taxiways will be capable of supporting aircraft up to Boeing777.  A new 850m long airside vehicle roadway will be constructed parallel to the new taxiway.  During construction, the project will require temporary closures of existing taxiways A, C and F and the South Runway and permanent closure of Taxiway B. All closures will be coordinated with other construction and maintenance activities on the airfield.
