Million Air Apron Soil Remediation - Vancouver International Airport

Million Air is proposing to remediate soil contamination at their existing aircraft apron located at 5455 Airport Road South at the Vancouver International Airport in Richmond B.C..

 

The Proposed Project

The project consists of excavation of hydrocarbon contaminated soil under and adjacent to the Million Air apron pavement. The project will require removal of asphalt and concrete, soil excavation, management of groundwater, backfill with clean sand and replacement of pavement structure.  Soil and groundwater testing will be conducted as part of the remediation program. Several new monitoring wells may be installed.

October 24, 2022 – The Vancouver Airport Authority issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
