WWTP Outfall Project Habitat Offsetting amendment for construction activities outside regular work hours - Public comments invited

The proposed project

Metro Vancouver's Greater Vancouver Sewerage and Drainage District is proposing an amendment to Condition 14 of their Vancouver Fraser Port Authority Project Permit 22-076 to carry out construction activities outside regular work hours. The Applicant has requested approval to carry out approved physical activities associated with marsh bench and intertidal mudflat construction, and planting 24 hours per day, seven days per week. This amendment was requested to ensure intertidal works are completed during favorable low tides and to meet the February 28, 2022 time limit to complete habitat offsetting works, as stipulated in their Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada Fisheries Act Authorization. 

There are no proposed amendments to the project scope. Impacts due to noise and light is not expected to be significant.

Delta, B.C. – January 19, 2023 – The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has determined that the proposed amendment to conduct project activities outside regular working hours for the Annacis Wastewater Treatment Plant Outfall Habitat Offsetting project located at adjacent to the 1400 block of Clivedon Avenue, Delta, B.C. is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
