Amendment to the construction hours for the approved Viterra Pacific Terminals New Revetment Slope

The Permit Holder, Viterra Inc. is proposing to undertake a portion of the project beyond the port authority standard construction hours, which is during low tides. This requires an amendment to condition 15 of the original permit (PER No. 20-215). The proposed work to occur outside the port authority's regular hours includes, the breaking and removal of the retaining wall, excavating and trimming the slopes to their design grade, installation of geotextile fabric, placement of core rock and installation of the riprap layer. Land based equipment, such as a 35 tonne excavator, a wheel loader, a plate compactor, trucks and pavement equipment will be used to complete the project. It is anticipated to take approximately two weeks to complete the low tide nighttime works.

The Permit Holder will follow noise mitigation measures as outlined in their Construction Environmental Management Plan and, in addition they will conduct noise measurements during extended hours as part of the environmental monitoring program. Temporary lighting for night works will be directed down and away from residential lines of sight as much as possible.
