Recreation Center Phase 1 Improvements - Canadian Forces Base Comox

The 19 Wing Fitness & Community Centre is a facility located within close proximity to 19 Wing Comox used by military, civilian, and public persons for indoor and outdoor activities and exercise. Several improvements where identified to the exterior portion of the facility: Demolition of South Ball Diamond; installation of culvert, swale, outlet to ditch, and re-grade of existing ditch to achieve indicated drainage, landscaping and planting (tree and shrub, seed mix); rough-in of sanitary service and underground conduit; installation of fitness area, and sled area & storage shed with power for lighting. Project is being undertaken by Department of National Defence, 19 Wing Comox, Real Property Operations.

August 29, 2023— The Department of National Defence issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
