DY83 Ship Ashore Accommodation - Installation of Temporary Office Trailers with Parking

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing a project. Four temporary office trailers will be installed to support up to 140 people in an empty lot at the Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Esquimalt Work Point Property. Each of the four Temporary Trailers will measure 18.2 m x 14.6 m (total footprint of 1,062.88 m2). The expected duration of time where these temporary offices will be in place is fourteen months, beginning in November 2026. A gravel parking area with 50 temporary parking stalls will also be constructed adjacent to the Temporary Trailers and will cover an area of approximately 2,200 m2.

October 12, 2026 – The public comment period on the project is closed. The Department of National Defence is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
