Squamish Nation - Hiyam Housing Society - CH'ICH'E´X_ WI´7K_W - Seymour Creek IR2, Lot 17

The site on Seymour Creek IR2 is approximately 600 metres west of the Seymour River and 800 Metre east of Lynn Creek.  The site is bordered by the Trans-Canada Highway offramp at exit 23A on the east perimeter and the Phibbs Bus Exchange on the south of the site.  Residential, family homes are to the west of the site.  The site is currently undeveloped and forested.  The proposed housing development will include three blocks of housing hosting approximately 200 one-, two-, and three-bedroom units.  It is assumed that vegetation clearing of the site will be required to accommodate the development.  Potential environmental impacts of the proposed development include clearing of vegetation, soil excavation, invasive species, construction activities as they relate to soil and water, and accidental spills or leakages of deleterious substances.

CH'ICH'E´X_ WI´7K_W – Public Comments Invited

 

April 09, 2025 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed CH'ICH'E´X_ WI´7K_W, located in Seymour Creek IR2, Lot 17, North Vancouver, BC is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

 

Written comments must be submitted by May 10, 2025 to the BC Environment Team.
