NOTICE OF DETERMINATION

July 15, 2022 – Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), and Canada Housing and Mortgage Corporation (CMHC) have determined that the proposed Senakw is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

 

The determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

  • impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;
  • Indigenous knowledge;
  • community knowledge;
  • comments received from the public; and
  • mitigation measures.

 

Implementation of mitigation measures is required for the project to address valued environmental components.

 

Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), and Canada Housing and Mortgage Corporation (CMHC) are satisfied that that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

 

Therefore, Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), and Canada Housing and Mortgage Corporation (CMHC) may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.

December 03, 2021 – Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) and Canada Housing and Mortgage Corporation (CMHC) must determine whether the proposed Senakw, located on federal lands including Kitsilano IR6 in Vancouver, BC is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, PSPC and CMHC are inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.
