Penticton IR1 - Bell Media Tower Replacement Project

The Proposed Project

Bell Media is seeking a s.28(2) permit from Indigenous Services Canada to replace, operate, and maintain a radio tower on Mount Nkwala on Penticton IR 1

The affected area is less than 50 m2 and is mainly composed of exposed bedrock with understory vegetation including but not limited to red bearberry, bunchgrass, rough fescue, and yarrow. The tower replacement project will involve decommissioning the existing tower and enclosure, and constructing a new 100ft tower. The tower will either be anchored directly into the bedrock or atop a new 13ft x 13ft concrete pad. Some existing infrastructure such as the antennas, overhead power lines, and communication cables will be reused. A new fence will also be constructed.
