Summerland Irrigation Infrastructure Rehabilitation

Project Description:

The existing irrigation system at the Summerland Research and Development Centre is 70-100 years old. The current system has reached the end of its expected life cycle and is experiencing failures to isolation valves and pressure reducing valves, as well as having significant leaks in the system. A feasibility study was completed in spring of 2020 and recommended replacing the underground pipe network with new steel and PVC pipe networks and provide new pressure relief valves and filtration stations. In total there is approximately 16.5 km of pipeline to be installed.
