Sunchild First Nation Child and Family Services Temporary Emergency Placement Home and Offices

Sunchild First Nation is proposing development of a temporary emergency placement home for the Child and Family Services building on Sunchild First Nation land. The land currently consists of a previously cleared property with a large gravel pad adjacent to the Sunchild Store, with some historically cleared but currently vegetated areas along the west side of the Project Area. Some minor vegetation clearing will be required for the project, which has a total area of 4,875 square meters, and includes development of 2 buildings, a surrounding parking lot, and associated infrastructure such as utilities, exterior lighting, and drainage.

Latest update

March 21, 2025 – Indigenous Services Canada issued its Notice of Determination (iaac-aeic.gc.ca) and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
