Trail 1a Jasper National Park

This project will be assessed with a basic impact assessment. 2019 saw higher than normal rainfall in the valley. Relatively small creeks became larger or diverted to form new water courses. Currently, there is a stream flowing down Trail 1a. This project intends to reconstruct trail tread and divert the water along a 300 m section of the trail, encouraging trail users to stay on the official route. Construction activities include some minor machine-assisted excavation, vegetation clearing, construction with hand tools and material placement.
