Parks Canada Agency Whistlers Campground Exclusion Fence
The Whistlers Campground Exclusion Fence Project will involve the installation of ungulate-exclusion fencing around the perimeter of Whistlers Campground in Jasper National Park. The project includes removal of conflict trees within the fence right-of-way, site preparation, installation of wooden post and page wire fencing, pedestrian gates, and cattle guards at vehicle access points. The fence is intended to reduce human-wildlife conflicts associated with elk use of the campground and support a safe camping experience for visitors.

September 9, 2026 – Parks Canada issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
