Town of Banff Trail Lighting: Rec Grounds & Glen to Spray Ave.

The Town of Banff is proposing to install bollard trail lighting: along Glen Avenue to Spray Avenue to complete the nighttime route connection between the Muskrat St pedestrian bridge and Spray Ave. from the Nancy Pauw pedestrian bridge along the paved central pathway in the Recreation Grounds to the pavilion. Construction will consist mainly of shallow trenching for electrical conduit installation, local excavations for the concrete bases for each bollard, backfilling, and electrical work. 


Latest update

June 29 2026 – Parks Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Parks Canada is inviting public comments until July 29 2026 respecting that determination.
