Akisqnuk First Nation Multipurpose Building Construction

Akisqnuk First Nation is building a new multipurpose building on reserve lands, in Windermere, BC, adjacent to Highway 93/95, to provide necessary services to the community. The existing Akisqnuk First Nation Administration building will be torn down, and a new, larger multipurpose building will be built in its place that will include a health center, administration wing and a community/band hall. The overall permanent project area is 4,405 m2.

Akisqnuk First Nation has applied to Environment and Climate Change Canada for a Species at Risk Act permit under section 73(3).


Latest update

November 10, 2024 - The public comment period on the project is closed. Environment and Climate Change Canada is considering comments received to help inform the determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
