Highway 93 South km 52.3 Bank Stabilization

On going erosion monitoring on the Hwy 93S corridor has identified an active and high-risk erosion area at km 52.3. Slumping trees and erosion observed at the toe of the highway embankment are signs of active erosion, and the highway embankment can be compromised during high water events. The objective of this project is to protect the highway embankment with riprap armouring to arrest active and on-going bank erosion, and to reduce the risk of erosion and loss of the highway embankment to future high-water events.
