1471 Blair Road – Pine View Golf Course Clubhouse Demolition

The Pine View Golf Course proposes to demolish its clubhouse building. The building is located within the Pine View Golf Course at 1471 Blair Road in Ottawa. It has reached the end of its lifecycle and should be removed.

 

The clubhouse is a one-storey concrete block building, with a suspected mid 1970s construction date. The building houses a dining hall/reception hall and restaurant, locker rooms, various offices, washrooms and mechanical rooms. It has a footprint of approximately 2,000 m3. There is no basement.


The building would be fully demolished. Some excavation would be required to remove the foundation. Vegetation immediately adjacent to the building may be selectively removed where required. The demolition would represent the first phase of a broader initiative, with the proponent intending to rebuild a new clubhouse in the future.

 

The purpose of the project is to eliminate immediate and long-term health and safety risks and support the long-term stewardship and future use of the property.
 

The proposed project would take place on lands owned by the NCC, and will be subject to a federal land use, design, and transaction approval under the National Capital Act. The NCC will make a determination under the Impact Assessment Act.


The construction area would be accessed with machines and equipment, and all work areas would be fenced accordingly. Construction would take place in the fall of 2026, outside the active nesting period for migratory birds. Construction work would follow all municipal by-laws, including those related to noise.

July 16, 2026 - The National Capital Commission intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, the National Capital Commission is inviting public comments until August 15, 2026 respecting that determination.
