Expansion of Training Centre Infrastructure – Garrison Petawawa

The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. The Department of National Defence proposes to expand a Training Complex at 4th Canadian Division Support Base Petawawa. The project will include approximately 23,000 m2 of new construction and a renovation of their existing facility. The expanded training center will encompass seven new buildings to provide adequate workspace, instructional/training space, accommodation, heating and cooling plant, and associated facilities including washrooms, kitchen, and dining. Additionally, an electrical substation for power supply will be constructed.


Latest update

January 27, 2026 - The Department of National Defence intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, the Department of National Defence is inviting public comments until February 15, 2026 respecting that determination.
