The Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte Community Wellbeing Centre

The Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte (MBQ) are a Mohawk community within Hastings County, Ontario approximately 200km east of Toronto. They control the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, which is a 7,362.5 ha  Mohawk Indian reserve on the Bay of Quinte in southeastern Ontario, Canada, east of Belleville and immediately to the west of Deseronto.

The Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte propose the Construction of a 2,130 square meter expansion to their existing Community Wellbeing Centre located at 50 Meadow Drive, Deseronto ON (44.1856, -77.1414). This new administrative space will house the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte's social programing including Ontario Works, Good Minds and Mohawk Family Services programs.

This First Nation project may be funded by ISC in accordance with the Tribunal's orders (2021 CHRT 41) to support Community Initiatives regarding infrastructure and capital required to support the delivery of child and family services for First Nations children, youth and families on reserve.
