Trailheads and Connections

The Trailheads and Connections Project will complete the spine trail in Rouge National Urban Park from the Oak Ridges in the North of the park to Lake Ontario in the south by connecting a number of gaps in the trail network and key river, road and rail crossings. The project will also look to improve parking and trailheads connected to the various trail network.

The project includes connecting Woodland Day Use Area, Zoo Rd. and the proposed Rouge Gateway Welcome Centre and Twyn Rivers Day Use Area. The project also includes a new entrance and parking lot to Woodland Day Use Area.

Key components of this project include
• 5 km of new trail
• 2 road crossings
• 1 rail crossing
• 3 bridges (pedestrian river crossings)
