Application for Approval of a Pipeline Abandonment Project at the Silver Dart Facility
Trans-Northern Pipelines Inc. has applied, pursuant to Sections 101(2) and 241(2) of the Canadian Energy Regulator Act, to abandon a 75 meter long segment of pipeline and associated pipe infrastructure located within an aviation fuel storage facility (Silver Dart Facility) at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Mississauga, Ontario. The pipeline, to be deactivated under a separate application to the Canada Energy Regulator, currently delivers jet fuel from the Toronto Airport Terminal to the Silver Dart Facility. The portion of the pipeline and associated infrastructure to be abandoned, along with the entire Silver Dart Facility, must be removed to accommodate the Greater Toronto Airports Authority's planned future expansion of Terminal 1.
