Stormwater Outfall #21 Repair at the Catawampus Pond - Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Borden, Ontario

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing to repair the bottom portion of stormwater outfall #21 as well as a collapsed bank along the northeastern shore of Catawampus Pond in Canadian Forces Base Borden (CFB), Ontario. This project includes: removal of the damaged stormwater outflow pipe, installation of a new stormwater outflow pipe, placement of geotextile and riprap material, and stabilization of the collapsed bank.

It is anticipated that the repairs to the decrepit stormwater outfall will reduce the risk of erosion for areas immediately surrounding the stormwater outfall and reduce the sedimentation that enters Catawampus Pond.

October 5, 2026 — The Department of National Defence has issued their Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
