Trenton Lock 1, Trent River - Dredge

The overall intent of this project is to re-dredge an area located downstream of Lock 1, at the mouth of the canal cut. The site was historically dredged approximately 25 years ago and has since re-filled in. Dredging shall cover an area measuring approximately 30.5 m x 15.2 m = 463.6 m² (100' x 50' = 5000 ft²), at a depth of 3 m (10'), for a total volume of 1390.8 m³ (50,000 ft³). Material shall be removed from the waterway via a scow, and placed in containment basins to be disposed of at a licensed facility. This project is anticipated to be completed in summer 2022. This project will be assessed with a Basic Impact Assessment.
