Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte Watermain Distribution Project, Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, Ontario

The project involves the planning and capital construction of 35 kilometres of watermain infrastructure to connect 305 existing homes and enable 792 future housing units. The initiative includes the installation of various sizes of PVC and HDPE pipes, hydrants, valves, and flushing devices.

The project addresses long-standing groundwater contamination and drought-related challenges, eliminating the community-wide long-term drinking water advisory. Outcomes include improved fire protection, reduced reliance on trucked water delivery, and support for future housing development. By maximizing the use of the existing water treatment plant, the project ensures sustainable growth and health benefits for the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte community
