Stormwater Drainage Associated with the Parliament Welcome Centre, Ottawa Lockstation, Ottawa Ontario

The project entails the installation of a new stormwater drain for the future Parliament Welcome Centre as part of the Center Block Rehabilitation Program. Perimeter drainage of the future below-grade building will be drained downslope to the Ottawa Lockstation where it will connect to an existing City of Ottawa manhole. The new drain will enter the lockstation property through the adjacent slope (via horizontal directional drilling), where it will enter a receiving pit with an oil and grit separator. Localized trenching will be required to install drainage pipe between the receiving pit and the discharge manhole. Associated works include re-paving the roadway and landscape reinstatement. The project will take place entirely on land and is approximately 15 m to the closest waterbody. Construction is anticipated to begin in the late fall/winter of 2024-25 with completion in spring 2025
