Replacement of the St. Jean Garrison gas station

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. The project consists of removing seven underground storage tanks that have reached the end of their service life, adding two aboveground storage tanks at the themal plant and replacing the old service station at the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Garrison with a new facility featuring two aboveground storage tanks, each with a capacity 25,000 L.

Latest update

September 3, 2026 - The public comment period has been reopened as the scope of the original project has changed. The authorities intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, the authorities are inviting public comments until September 22, 2026 respecting that determination.
