Maintenance of the dams at Lac à la Pêche and Lac Wapizagonke, La Clairière area

The dams at Lac à la Pêche and Lac Wapizagonke (La Clairière sector) require maintenance to ensure their safety and extend their service life. The work includes repairing the caissons and wooden abutments, stabilizing the riprap downstream of the dams and at the shore supports, and controlling vegetation adjacent to and above the abutments and supports. The work is scheduled for mid-July through September, the period with the lowest risk of impact on fish.


Latest update

June 30 2026 – Parks Canada issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
