Fall Experience

As part of the design of the "Fall Experience"  project, Sépaq wishes to install a towing plan to store the tanks forming the semi-submerged footbridge on the west shore of the Montmorency river. During the development of the structural concept of the structure, additional studies have shown that certain exceptional floods could exert hydraulic forces greater than those anticipated. Therefore, the design of the type section had to be completely overhauled. Thus, the mass of each of the two 85 m tanks length doubled from about 75 mt. at nearly 150 t.m. Therefore, the initially planned option of removing the tanks before the winter period using mobile cranes and store them on cradles (framework designed for this purpose) placed on the shore is until the following spring became unthinkable, given the dimensions and masses involved.
