Installation of a tank car fuel loading system and a fire protection system

IMTT-Québec operates an intermodal liquid bulk terminal at the Port of Québec whose activities are the reception, storage and shipment of various products by truck, wagon and ship. Among the common products, gasoline has been handled and stored for several years on the terminal. The project involves installing the required equipment and systems among existing facilities to ensure the safe shipment of this product by tank cars. Vapour will be returned to the existing vapour destruction unit. It is also planned to set up a deluge system of fire protection water-foam at the loading structure. For this purpose, a new heated building will be built to receive the foam tank and flood valves of the fire protection system. The construction of this building and the fire system will require excavation work for the installation of the foundation.
