Storage area development – 3 Wing Canadian Forces Base Bagotville

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. The present project involves carrying out the work and providing all labour, materials, and equipment required for the complete construction of a gravel surface covering an area of 4,800 m2, along with two access roads, for potential future use as a storage area. The area is currently cleared of trees and covered with herbaceous vegetation. Without limitation, the work includes stripping the topsoil layer and removing all organic matter, vegetation, roots, debris, and any unsuitable material within the footprint of the gravel pad and access roads; grading and compacting the stripped surface; constructing a gravel pad approximately 80 m by 60 m consisting of a 300 mm layer of MG-20 granular material; and constructing two 10-metre-long access roads connecting the gravel pad to the perimeter road.
