Hydro One D6 Line Relocation– Garrison Petawawa

Hydro One's D6 transmission line requires relocation due to the existing transmission line corridor bisecting the increasingly active Ranges and Training Areas of Garrison Petawawa. The existing transmission line has also reached the end of its serviceability.

The project involves the preparations for, and installation of, single-circuit 115 kV wood or composite poled transmission line. Once completed, the new line transmission corridor will provide safe access to the line for maintenance, improve hydro reliability for the Ottawa Valley, support expanding Canada's Defence Operations and military residential housing development initiatives while minimizing impacts both to and by military activities.

Latest update

October 15, 2026 — The Department of National Defence has issued their Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
