Hydro One D6 Line Relocation– Garrison Petawawa

Hydro One's D6 transmission line requires relocation due to the existing transmission line corridor bisecting the increasingly active Ranges and Training Areas of Garrison Petawawa. The existing transmission line has also reached the end of its serviceability.

The project involves the preparations for, and installation of, single-circuit 115 kV wood or composite poled transmission line. Once completed, the new line transmission corridor will provide safe access to the line for maintenance, improve hydro reliability for the Ottawa Valley, support expanding Canada's Defence Operations and military residential housing development initiatives while minimizing impacts both to and by military activities.

Latest update

August 11, 2026 - The Department of National Defence intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, the Department of National Defence is inviting public comments until August 30, 2026 respecting that determination.
