Evergreen Hospice Development

Evergreen Community Hospice is proposing the development of a new hospice facility and associated site infrastructure on its leased 1.473-acre property located on Elgin Mills Road in Rouge National Urban Park. The project may include site preparation, building construction, servicing and utility installations, accessibility features, parking and access improvements, and other supporting infrastructure as required. Additional components may include installation of prefabricated structures, wastewater servicing, landscaping, stormwater management features, and other site enhancements. Landscaping activities may include the planting of native vegetation, habitat enhancement measures, and the creation of outdoor amenity areas. Temporary construction-related activities, such as grading, excavation, material storage, and site restoration, may also be required.

Latest update

October 7, 2026 – Parks Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Parks Canada is inviting public comments until November 6, 2026 respecting that determination.
