Louise Creek Bank Stabilization

This project involves adding riprap rocks to the banks and bed on sections of Louise Creek to stabilize eroding banks that are impacting the integrity of the Lake Louise Drive roadway in Banff National Park. In-stream work is required as part of this project, and it will be assessed using a Basic Impact Assessment.


Latest update

July 25, 2024 – Parks Canada and Fisheries and Oceans Canada intend to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Parks Canada and Fisheries and Oceans Canada are inviting public comments until August 24, 2024 respecting that determination.
