Village of Lake Louise Utilities Selected System Upgrades

This project will undertake replacement of water distribution mains and sanitary sewer collection mains in selected sections of the Village of Lake Louise Utilities System. Work will take place along Slate Road, Village Road, the Trans Canada Highway, and interact with the Pipestone and Bow Rivers. All work will take place on previously disturbed areas currently associated with Village infrastructure. Watermain pipe sizes will be increased to meet the Fire Underwriters Survey and Alberta Environment standards for storage and flow under fire flow conditions, increasing fire protection for structures in the Village. This project will be assessed with a basic impact assessment.  

Latest update

7 June 2020 - The public comment period on the project is closed. Parks Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
