Deployment of three variable message signs at the port of Montreal, Montreal (Quebec)

The proposed project is part of the National Trade Corridors Fund (NTCF) financing agreement reached between Montreal Port Authority (MPA) and Transport Canada (TC). The MPA plans to install three (3) variable message signs within the port territory, between sections 53 and 71 (Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough).

In general, the planned works can be summarized as follows:

  • Excavation and installation of foundations and electrical conducts;
  • Installation of supporting structures;
  • Mounting of variable message signs;
  • Electrical and telecommunication connections.

The works are scheduled to begin in early 2026.

Following the completion of the Assessment, the Montreal Port Authority and Transport Canada have rendered their decision. The Notice of Determination is now available for public consultation.
