Simpson River Pit Toilet Installation

Parks Canada is proposing to install a 2-hole concrete construction-style accessible, inclusive privy at the Simpson River trail head. The privy is to be installed to improve visitor experience for meeting basic needs for sanitary washroom facilities, and reduce ecological damages created due to the lack of sanitary facilities at this site. Construction area zone is 50 square meters, approximately 7 m3 of material will be excavated and is located less than 50 meters away from the nearest watercourse (Kootenay River).
