Queen Anne Dyke Upgrades by the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture

60km of dykeland updagrades are planned across Nova Scotia as part of the provincial Dykeland Upgrades Project, of which 60m is occurring on Parks Canada land at the southern extent of the Melanson Settlement National Historic Site. Project activities will include ditch clearing, increasing the height of the dyke, and realigning the access road. Work will be conducted with heavy machinery from within the existing access road and within the dyke right of way.

The Province of Nova Scotia's Engineered Design Solutions for Dykeland System Upgrades Environmental Screening addresses provincial environmental assessment requirements and any additional federal / Parks Canada impact assessment requirements will be fulfilled through this impact assessment.
