Recapitalization of Submarine Shed (D294) Roof, His Majesty's Canadian Halifax Dockyard, Canadian Forces Base Halifax

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing to recapitalize the roof of the Submarine Shed (building D294) at His Majesty's Canadian (HMC) Halifax Dockyard, Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Halifax. During a recent wind event, the upper membrane layers of the roof delaminated from the insulation and are loose and failing. Project activities will include removal and disposal of 2-ply modified bitumen roofing and overlayment boards; removal and replacement of wet insulation; and new 75-millimetre insulation, cover board, and 2-ply modified bitumen roof over the area of work. The work is expected to take place Fall/Winter 2023-2024.
