Rock Wall, Boat slip and Wharf Construction, Bridgewater, NS

The proposed project will involve the construction of a rock wall, boat slip and wharf along the LaHave River in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, for personal recreational use. Land-based machinery will be used to construct the new rock wall for shoreline protection that will be approximately 50.3 m along the shoreline and 0.61 m wide. All work related to the rock wall will be above the ordinary high water mark (OHWM). The boat slip and wharf and crib ties will be constructed on land and moved into place at low tide using an excavator and will have a footprint will be 13.40 m2. The crib ties will be approximately 3.66 m by 3.66m, filled with clean rock, and used to support the new wharf. There will be no excavation below the OHWM.

[2022-12-25] – Transport Canada issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
